Each year we try to participate in charity events that help out our local community.
2021 Launch Party
This past October we celebrated the completed expansion of our practice. It was catered with yummy nibbles from Kairi Hotel and local talent Stevie Delai was there to serenade us with her beautiful voice. The evening wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of the builders, plumbers, electricians, architects and of course our patients.
Patient Appreciation Event 2020
Every year we hold a Patient Appreciation Party to say thank you to all our amazing patients for a wonderful year. Last year, we had a Barefoot Bowls day with lots prizes and giveaways. There was a lot of fun had by all!
Work for Jacob Day
We raised $5500 during our Work-for-Jacob day. Our team volunteered their time on a Sunday to raise money to help out a local family in need. Jacob (11) was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Jacob had been transferred to Brisbane to receive immediate treatment requiring Shiralee, his mum, to leave her daughter and business to be by his side.
Australian Red Cross Donation
Some of our staff took a trip to the Australian Red Cross blood donation facility in Cairns in November 2017 to donate blood and plasma. It’s such a rewarding feeling knowing your donation could save a life or 3! Did you know only 3% of Australian’s donate? If you would like to get involved, contact the Red Cross Blood Service on 13 14 95 and make an appointment today!
Olympic Ovaries Wheelbarrow Race Team
In 2016 and 2017 ASD sponsored a team in the Great Wheelbarrow. Teams run from Mareeba to Chillagoe pushing a wheelbarrow in a 147km journey.
